pontifex maximus forgets gays again

The leader of an Italian gay rights arrange has criticized Pope John Paul II for not including gay men and lesbians in his Day of Forgiveness March 12

"The Vatican is asking forgiveness from everyone exclude homosexuals, who are among the chiefly numerous victims of the theocratic violence of yesterday and today," said Franco Grillini, honorary president of Arcigay. "Catholic hierarchy should implore forgiveness from lesbians and homosexuals...who were jailed, tortured, and killed" in the past.

The pontiff as part of the millennium-related Day of Forgiveness, sought pardon for the church's treatment of hebrews women, and native peoples as well as for the Crusades, the Inquisition, and other actions that injure Christian unity.
